Shopify App Permissions: What LoudCrowd Uses and Why

When you install the LoudCrowd Shopify app, Shopify asks you to approve a set of data permissions. Here's what each one does, and which ones your program actually needs.

FAQ

Can we approve only some of the permissions?

Not during install — Shopify presents an app's full data access request as a single approve-or-cancel. If your security team needs a reduced set, reach out to your CSM before installing.

What if we want to add a feature later, like creator discount codes?

Adding a permission means re-approving the app in your Shopify admin. It's a short approval prompt, not a fresh setup — see Approving LoudCrowd's Shopify App Update. Once you approve, LoudCrowd backfills any data the new permission unlocked.

Can we revoke access later?

Yes — uninstalling the LoudCrowd app in your Shopify admin revokes its access immediately. Attribution stops at that point, and creator links will no longer track sales.

We connected our store but aren't seeing any data.

The most common cause is the LoudCrowd app embed not being switched on in your published theme. Connecting your store installs the app but doesn't start tracking on its own — the app embed steps are in How to Integrate Shopify in LoudCrowd.
