Instagram Connection Troubleshooting

What to check when your Instagram account shows as disconnected in LoudCrowd, or a refresh doesn't bring it back.

Use this guide if your Instagram account shows as disconnected in LoudCrowd, new content has stopped appearing, or you've refreshed the connection and it still isn't restored.

Before you start

  • Your Instagram account must be a Professional (Business or Creator) account linked to a Facebook Page. See Meta's guide to setting up a professional Instagram account.

  • The person reconnecting must have access to both the Facebook Page and the Instagram account in Meta Business settings.

  • You need LoudCrowd Owner access to see the Integrations tab.

First, try a refresh

Follow the steps in How to Re-authenticate Your Instagram and TikTok accounts. If that restores the connection, you're done.

Still showing disconnected after refreshing?

If you completed the refresh but LoudCrowd still shows your Instagram account as disconnected, Facebook most likely didn't include your Instagram account in what it shared with LoudCrowd during the login. Work through these checks:

1. Confirm your Instagram account is linked to your Facebook Page

In Meta Business Suite > Settings > Business assets, confirm your Instagram account is connected to your Facebook Page. You can also check from the Page itself under Settings > Linked accounts > Instagram. Re-link it if needed. The Instagram account must be a Professional (Business or Creator) account.

2. Confirm the person refreshing has access to both assets

In Meta Business Settings > People, the person doing the refresh needs access to both the Facebook Page and the Instagram account. They must log into the Facebook popup with that same Facebook profile. If you have been moved to the "new" Facebook Page experience, they'll need access to a "Task" called "Messages & Community Activity," "Insights," or "Facebook Access."

3. Redo the refresh and watch the selection screens

When the Facebook popup appears, it will ask which Business, Pages, and Instagram accounts to share. Make sure your Facebook Page and your Instagram account are both selected (don't uncheck anything), then select YES on all permissions.

4. Key check: does your Instagram account appear in the popup at all?

If your Instagram account is not listed as an option in the Facebook popup, the refresh cannot succeed no matter how many times you retry. It means Step 1 or Step 2 above still isn't resolved.

Still stuck?

Reach out via chat and tell us which step looked different than described, especially if your Instagram account didn't appear as an option in the Facebook popup. Once your account is reconnected, ask us about re-pulling content from the window it was disconnected.
